The blood sampling happens after a 10-12 hour fasting, especially if it is about a simple check-up. Only the consumption of water is allowed while smoking should be avoided in any case
For the examination of the blood sugar curve consecutive blood samplings take place and they last from 1-3 hours.
• For the urine examination (urine general or culture) preferable are the first morning urine after a careful washing of the outer genitals and their collection in a sterile urine collector. The urine is collected at the middle of the urination without its flow being stopped. Especially for the culture, the collection of the urine must take place prior to the intake of an antibiotic. For the urine collection from babies a pasting of a special bag is demanded and if the transfer of the sample is not immediate the urine is kept at the clinic.
Urine collection 24 hour
We throw away the urine of the first morning urination and we note the exact time, we collect all the urine quantity during the day and night while also of the first morning urination the following day which will take place at the exact same time when we began the previous day. During the collection the urine needs to be kept in the fridge.
The use of cervical suppositories and internal washing are prohibited. Sexual abstinence 3 days prior to the collection of the sample is necessary. Washing of the area only externally with soap and water prior to the collection.
